Pyramid Rules

Object

The object of the game is to clear all the cards from tableau (pyramid).

Layout

  • 1 deck (52 cards), 2 redeals
  • 1 stock pile (top left) with 24 cards. The top most card is faced up and others are faced down
  • 1 waste pile (below the stock), initially empty
  • 28 tableau piles forming a pyramid. Each pile contains one card. First row of the pyramid contains 1 pile. Second row contains 2 piles which partially covers the pile in the first row. Third row contains 3 piles which partially covers two piles in the second row and so on. The pyramid consists of a 7 piles (see picture).

  • 1 foundation pile (right from the tableau), initially empty

Rules

Find a pair of a exposed cards (cards not covered by other card) which total rank yields 13. Those pairs of cards are moved to the foundation. Valid pairs are:

  • A and Q
  • 2 and J
  • 3 and 10
  • 4 and 9
  • 5 and 8
  • 6 and 7

Kings are ranked 13 and are discarded singly.

Stock: Click on the stock to move the top card to the waste. When the stock is emptied click on the empty stock pile to move all cards from the waste back to the stock (redeal). There is 2 redeals. Also, the top card of the stock pile is available to play, that is: when other card is selected you may click the top card of stock pile to move both cards to the foundation.

Waste: The top card is available for play.

Foundation: Two cards are moved to the foundation if sum of their ranks equals 13. Kings are moved singly.

Tableau (pyramid): A card from each tableau pile is available to play if it is not partially covered by other card.
