Baker's Game Rules

Object

The object of the game is to move all the cards to the foundations.

Layout

  • 1 deck (52 cards), no redeal
  • 4 reserve piles (top left), also called cells, initially empty
  • 4 foundation piles (top right), initially empty
  • 8 tableau piles (below reserves and foundations). 6 cards are dealt to each tableau pile. Remaining 4 cards are dealt to first 4 piles. All cards are faced up.

Rules

The only difference from Free Cell game is that tableau piles are built by suit rather than by alternating colors.

Foundations: Build up in suit, from Ace to King. The top card of foundation pile can be moved back to the tableau or to an empty cell.

Reserves (cells): Any card can be moved to reserve. Each reserve pile can contain only one card.

Tableau: Build down in suit. The top card of each pile can be moved to the foundations, reserves or to the tableau. Packed sequence of cards (cards that are sorted down in suit) may be moved to another tableau pile only if there is enough empty cells to move the cards one by one using cells and empty piles as a temporary storage for holding cards. Any card or packed sequence can be moved to an empty pile.
