Batsford Rules

Object

The object of the game is to move all the cards to the foundations.

Layout

  • 2 decks (104 cards), no redeals
  • 8 foundation piles (on top), initially empty
  • 1 stock pile (below foundations, on left) with 49 cards faced down
  • 1 waste pile (right from the stock), initially empty
  • 1 reserve pile (below foundations, on right)
  • 10 tableau piles (below stock, waste and reserve). The first pile contains one card, the second pile contains two cards, the third pile contains three cards, and so on. All cards in tableau piles, except the top card, are faced down, while the top card of each tableau pile is faced up.

Rules

Stock: Click on the stock to move the top card to the waste. There is no redeal.

Waste: The top card can be moved to the foundations or to the tableau.

Foundations: Build up in suit, from Ace to King. The top card of a foundation pile can be moved back to the tableau.

Tableau: Build down in alternating colors. The top card of each pile can be moved to the foundations or to the tableau. A sequence of cards may be moved to another tableau pile. Empty piles may be built with King or sequence of cards starting with King.

Reserve: Up to three Kings may be placed on reserve. The top card from reserve may be played to the tableau or to the foundations.
