Russian Solitaire Rules

Object

The object of the game is to move all the cards to the foundations.

Layout

  • 1 deck (52 cards), no redeals
  • 4 foundation piles (on top), initially empty
  • 7 tableau piles (below foundations). During the first phase of deal, one card is placed on the first pile, two cards on the second pile, three cards on the third pile, and so on. The top most card of each pile is faced up and others are faced down. Then, in second phase, another 4 faced up cards are placed on each pile except the first one.

Rules

The only difference from Yukon is that the tableau is built down in suit, rather than in alternating colors.

Foundations: Build up in suit, from Ace to King. The top card of a foundation pile cannot be played anymore.

Tableau: Build down in suit. The top card of each pile can be moved to the foundations or to the tableau. Any sequence of cards (no matter if cards are sorted down in suit) may be moved to another tableau pile. An empty pile can be filled only by a King or by a sequence of cards starting with King.
