Klondike Rules

Object

The object of the game is to move all the cards to the foundations.

Layout

  • 1 deck (52 cards), unlimited redeals
  • 1 stock pile (top left) with 24 cards faced down
  • 1 waste pile (right from the stock), initially empty
  • 4 foundation piles (right from the waste), initially empty
  • 7 tableau piles (below the stock, waste and foundations). The first pile contains one card, the second pile contains two cards, the third pile contains three cards and so on. All cards in tableau piles, except top card, are faced down, while the top card of each tableau pile is faced up.

Rules

Stock: Click on the stock to move the top card to the waste. When the stock is emptied click on empty stock pile to move all the cards from the waste to the stock (redeal).

Waste: The top card can be moved to the foundations or to the tableau.

Foundations: Build up in suit, from Ace to King. The top card of a foundation pile can be moved back to the tableau.

Tableau: Build down in alternating colors. The top card of each pile can be moved to the foundations or to another tableau pile. A sequence of cards may be moved to another tableau pile. Empty piles may be built with King or sequence of cards starting with King.
